Old Alchera 4.0 sketchesPrevious versions of Alchera were designed to be useful on the screen resolution 640 x 480 pixels. By now, the larger resolution of 800 x 600 has become standard, which supplies more room for a nicer design of the user interface. The sketches at this page only show the basic shapes and colors. Buttons, editing controls and other interactive elements are not or only partially included.

First design (Tabs)Originally, the idea was to build on the tabs already used in Alchera 3.x, which showed tabs, but covered the complete tab pages with editing controls. Alchera 4 would let the page show through around the borders of the editing controls. Several sets of textures were created. Two of these sets can be seen above.
Second design (Arc)The new look features an arc in the top left corner. It makes the design more fluid, and provides room for a few large buttons, to be used for frequently used functions. The colors, textures, and transparencies can be customized.
